Organic Matters, and it Matters A Lot!

At Pipoca, we always try our best to source ingredients that used in our restaurant as organically as possible. This also applied to our grocery as well, where majority of our products are certified organic. People always ask us why organic matters? What’s the major reasons make it necessary to switch to a organic diet. For us, it all concluded into 3 things:
1. GMOs (Genetic Modified Organisms). The only to guarantee your food doesn’t contain any pesticides & herbaries is to buy certified organic food. Common crops that are known to be heavily abused with GMO are apple, tomato, potato, soya, corn, wheat (bread you eat) and there’s a lot more you wouldn’t expect. GMOs are known to damage our DHA and harm our immunity, eventually devolve human race generation by generation.
2. Toxic Chemicals. When it comes to chemicals, food additives are now commonly abused by food industry, where it’s inevitable for every people to ingest all different sorts of chemicals on a daily basis. Common things to avoid are natural food flavourings, food colourings, emulsifier, thickener, acidity regulators, the list can goes on forever. The golden rule is always “don’t eat things that you don’t know”, see an ingredient you not sure what it is? Just don’t buy (eat) it, simple as that.
3. Soils. Better for the planet. Organic agriculture is probably one of the most
important section within the industry that gets overlooked, and it’s the only sustainable way for us to maintain the variety of vegetables we can eat. We thrived on plants just like plants are thrived on soils, specifically organic soil. Soil that got damaged & contaminated by GMO are most likely irreversible, it degrades the soil vitality and quality.
